Shimla, 18th July, 2022. The government spokesperson informed that a VC was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur with the all the Administrative departments, DCs and CMOs. As per the announcement from Government of India, on the occasion of 75 years of Independence, administration of precautionary dose has been extended for all eligible age groups between 18 -59 years, under Covid Vaccine Amrut Mahotsav.
These doses shall be administered free of cost at all the Government CVC’s for 75 days, from 15th July 2022 to 30th September 2022.Earlier only Citizens of the age group of 60 years and above, front line workers and health care workers were given free of cost precaution dose in Government COVID vaccination centers. He further added that it is envisaged that a total of 50 lakh population shall be vaccinated under Covid Vaccine Amrut Mahotsav.
The Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur directed all the Districts to plan the COVID Vaccination Sessions in Government CVC’s, for the 18+ beneficiaries and publish on CoWIN portal on the daily basis. He further instructed the departments of Industries, PRI &RD, SJE, Education, Transport,Revenue, IPR, Tribal development, Ayurveda and YSS to extend support to the Health Department in mobilizing the left out beneficiaries of the departments for active participation. He directed that the departments should provide support in the form of vehicles to the vaccination teams for the far flung areas,so that the sessions can be conducted and eligible population is vaccinated in the 75 days time.
The government spokesperson said that all the beneficiaries between 18-59 years group, who have completed 6 months or 26 weeks from the day of the second dose are eligible for the precautionary dose. Those people who have tested positive for Covid -19 infection lately shall have to wait for 90 days from recovery from the infection before precautionary dose can be administered.
He appealed that all the eligible beneficiaries are requested to take their precautionary doses at their nearest government CVCs where on spot registration shall be done on first cum first serve basis. He also appealed that COVID appropriate behaviour should be followed to contribute in curbing Covid-19, which shall build a healthy Himachal Pradesh.
