Shimla, 10th October, 2022. In view of upcoming HP state assembly elections and as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, Himachal Pradesh Police has launched special campaigns to detect offences under various heads and to arrest proclaimed offenders and Non Bailable Warrant Jumpers. The performance for the week between 01-10-2022 to 07-10-2022was as under:-
Detection under excise act: – Himachal Pradesh Police detected a total of 59 cases under the Excise Act inwhich 1901.4 ltrs. Country Liquor, 72.5 liters. English Liquor, 1357ltrs. Illicit Liquor and 16.2 ltrs. Beer was recovered across all the Districts in Himachal Pradesh. A total of 3,347 liters illegal Liquor was confiscated.
Detection under ND&PS act: – During the pastweek a total of 20 FIRs were registered underND&PS act in which 4.862 kg Charas, 10.24 gram Opium, 14.124 kg poppy Husk, 104.114 gram Heroin and 4000 Poppy Plants were recovered and seized across all the Districts in Himachal Pradesh.
Detection under Mining Act: – During the pastweek 02 Cases were registered under the Mining Act and175 Challans issued, 139 challans were compounded and an amount of Rs. 7,87,200/- released as fine. 36 challans were sent to court and 20 vehicles werealso seized by the police.
Execution of NBWs during special campaign: – A total 220 Non Bailable warrants (NBWs) were executed in the past one week including 30 out of state NBWs.
Apprehension of POs during Special Campaign: -18 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) were apprehended during the week ending 07-10-2022, out of which 13 POs were arrested by District Kinnaur Police alone.
The special campaigns are still continuing and progress of the same will be shared periodically.
